The University of Waikato is launching The Juniper Passion in Auckland. This multi-media opera, set around the Basilica at Montecassino during the Second World War, was composed by University of Waikato lecturer Michael Williams.

The launch will feature selected scenes from the opera which is told through the eyes of a Benedictine Monk, a German army officer and a New Zealand soldier.
