Kowhai Singers present a Christmas Concert

Christmas is fast approaching and Kowhai Singers are busy working on a wonderful collection of songs and carols with a festive flavour - including the renowned and well-loved "O Holy Night”, a stirring "Gloria in Excelsis" and three pieces by the English composer John Rutter (who was commissioned to write a new anthem "This is the day which the Lord hath made" for the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton, performed at Westminster Abbey during the service in April this year).

This year a children's choir, led by Susan Hayday and drawn from the local Matakana Primary School and Mahurangi College, will sing a bracket of songs. They will perform with the Kowhai Singers at the Mahurangi College concert on Saturday.

Beverley Hicks, a well-known mezzo soprano soloist and also a member of the Kowhai Singers, will perform at both concerts.

So purchase your tickets from choir members, Warkworth i-SITE or at the door, and join us to celebrate the 2011 Christmas season at either Puhoi Hall on 2nd December or Mahurangi College on 3rd December - or both!
