May 2011 saw 8 of the country's top heavyweights face off in an explosive tournament that lifted the roof of the ASB Stadium and crowned the New Zealand Heavyweight King of the Ring - Antz 'Notorious' Nansen.

Friday, 28th October will see the MAX [Middleweight Action Xtreme] contenders step forward.

With an exciting mix of established fighters and rising stars in the electric atmosphere of a K-1 rules 8 man tournament, these 72kg fighters will be more agile than their heavyweight counterparts, making for exhilarating faster paced combat action.

The tournament format requires the winner to defeat 3 opponents in a single night and provides the ultimate test of both skill and endurance. The winner taking the prize money and the crown as New Zealand's King of The Ring MAX.
