Still one more line up announcement to go.

Onra (Arnaud Bernard) is a music producer from Paris, France. Mostly from a hip-hop background, his inspirations vary from genres such as soul, funk, jazz, reggae, boogie, modern soul, R’n’B, dub, world, prog rock, to name a few.

He first appeared on the collab-album “Tribute” in 2006 with other french producer and friend, Quetzal, a hip-hop tribute to soul music which was played several times by Gilles Peterson, Benji B and covered on Okayplayer.com.

At the same time, he started collaborating with Byron The Aquarius, an American keyboard player from Alabama. Together they released an album under the name of “The Big Payback” in 2007, on Japanese label Circulations. A project full of different influences such as futuristic hip-hop, nu-soul and broken beat. They also appeared on highly praised compilations such as Beat Dimensions and New Worlds... more on Facebook link below.

Funkommunity is the artist name for vocalist/producer duo Rachel Fraser and Isaac Aesili, who began collaborating with a song called 'Im All In' from Isaac's debut solo album 'Eye See' (2009). The powerful creative dynamic the two established with this song provided the momentum to begin work on a full album of future soul music.

Rachel Fraser is an accomplished vocalist and songwriter. Her voice is reminiscent of old-school jazz, soul and funk styles infused with contemporary R&B. Rachel's vocals are often compared with the likes of Erykah Badu and Amy Winehouse. Originally from Thames, Coromandel, Rachel gained international attention through a song with Recloose entitled 'Catch a Leaf'. Since then she has been busy performing with bands such as Sola Rosa and Recloose Live.

From Christchurch, Isaac is a prolific collaborator and has co-written songs with Aaradhna, Ladi6, Hollie Smith, Mara TK and Julien Dyne. His session work includes recording for House of Shem, Homebrew, Anika Moa, Mt Eden and Crowded House. Over the last decade Isaac has been an integral member of many New Zealand bands including Solaa, Opensouls, Recloose Live and Eru Dangerspiel and has toured as a guest musician with iconic New Zealand bands Trinity Roots and Shapeshifter.

The birth of Funkommunity as a recording duo as and live band was achieved when Rachel and Isaac completed their forthcoming debut album entitled “Chequered Thoughts”. - Facebook
