Wires and Wood are an Auckland based 4 piece bluegrass band made up of the combined extraordinary talents of:
Bryan Christianson: Banjo / baritone vocals.
Micheal Young: Mandolin / lead vocals.
Dave Warren: Guitar / tenor vocals.
Alec Healy, or Garry Trotman, or *Lott*: Bass.
The music they play is drawn from a wide variety of sources - from songwriters as diverse as Bill Monroe, JJ Cale, Robert Earl Keen and Tim O'Brien. From sad and lonesome to driving and dynamic, Wires and Wood cover the bluegrass spectrum.
In January 2011, their debut album ‘Over The Moon’ won the RIANZ Tui award for Best Folk Album.
In January 2012, they will guest at the Auckland Folk Festival.
