Painting New Zealand Art from Te Papa 1890 - 1950 features a selection of 23 paintings from the collection of the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. Painted between the end of the nineteenth century and the middle of the twentieth, they reflect the dramatic changes that occurred in New Zealand art during this period.

The exhibition includes some of Te Papa's best-known paintings, less familiar works and several recent acquisitions. In addition to charting shifts in art and criticism, Painting New Zealand offers a glimpse of how Te Papa's art collection has evolved over time.

Presented with the assistance of the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.
