Eleven fine musicians will perform at a mayoral benefit concert at the Civic Theatre on Sunday 19 June to raise funds for the Christchurch earthquake relief.

Five singers and three pianists from Rotorua, and a Christchurch-based ensemble will perform an attractive programme which will appeal to a wide audience. The concert has been arranged by the Rotorua Music Federation, with the support from Rotorua’s mayor, Kevin Winters. The singers, who include the well-known sopranos Evelyn Falconer and Maria Kapa, will be accompanied by pianists Daphne Christophers and Alison Zanelli. An outstanding pianist, Li-Can Wei, now studying in Auckland, will play a solo piece, and the Christchurch ensemble is a trio of clarinet, cello and piano.
