For the Te Tuhi Project Space Auckland-based artist Rob Gardiner has created a spatial drawing to be walked through and experienced. Continuing his enquiry into the deconstruction of painting Gardiner uses common materials and the shadows they cast to act as drawn lines in the given architecture. Referencing contemporary developments in painting, the installation can be understood as an abstract painting pulled apart to create a spatial experience.
