As part of the celebration of Matariki, The Kauri Museum is holding an art and design competition and exhibition. All entries must depict or incorporate the Matariki theme through art and/or traditional or contemporary Maori design.
Categories are as follows:
1) Woodwork - as in (a) carving; (b) bowls and platters; (c) freeform
2) Textiles
3) Painting
4) Photography
5) Metalwork
6) Ceramics
7) Kete and other flax weaving
8) Adornments, material optional, i.e. bone, pounamu, flax, wood, kauri gum or metal, etc.
All entries and competition forms should be delivered to The Kauri Museum no later than Friday, 27 May 2011, 4.30pm.
