A suave nobleman is found in the bedroom of a lady in waiting, half-naked and shrouded in darkness. Of course it must be Don Juan!
'The Last Days of Don Juan' is Nick Dear’s modern adaptation of 'El Burlador de Sevilla' written in 1623 by Tirso De Molina. It is the age old tale of a saucy, young Spanish nobleman whose prolific taste for women gets him in trouble.
No one is safe from his charm and debauchery as he whirls through renaissance Spain, seducing fisherwomen and foreign nobility alike. But when his tricks go too far and he commits a murder, the consequences of his actions, earthly and otherwise, begin to pile up. Considered to be a Spanish classic, the play is filled with big laughs, juicy seductions and of course the wit and flair of our eponymous hero.
Whether it’s classic comedy, cultural insight or perhaps some dating advice, The Last Days of Don Juan promises something for everyone.
