The Hamilton Civic Choir will celebrate Matariki with both NZ-born and more traditional choral composers. Our programme includes pieces related to Matariki itself, to constellations, the winter weather and to our environment. You can enjoy the premiere performances of two newly commissioned works, written by Waikato-trained composers, Janet Jennings and Phillippa Ulenberg. We will be joined by the St Paul's Collegiate school choir in the premiere performance of Phillippa's "Psalm 148". The concert will also include a kapa haka group from Huntly, Raakaumangamanga, who have several waiata related to Matariki in their repertoire.
Held in the Chapel at St Paul's Collegiate School.
