Cut! is a national competition for secondary school filmmakers, run by the School of Media Arts, Wintec.
Students are challenged to create a 4 – 6 minute short film, drama or documentary, on any topic.
Entry is free and there are a great collection of prizes to be won.
The competition is open to any production team of students who are currently enrolled in and attending a New Zealand secondary school. This production can be incorporated into NCEA Media Studies.
Submissions close on Friday 16 September at 5pm.
All submissions will be viewed by the 2011 Wintec selection panel, consisting of staff and allied industry professionals. The panel will select 10 productions for screening and final judging.
The ten finalists’ productions will be judged by a panel made up of industry professionals, with awards announced at the screening; on Sunday 9 October 2011, between 11am - 3pm, at The Bill Gallagher Centre, Gallagher Hub, Wintec.
