With Mary Betz, PhD. We will explore forests as flash-points for justice issues, whether we use kwila on our decks, or cook with a palm oil that displaces indigenous forests and people in Papua New Guinea. In 2005, Sr Dorothy Stang was murdered in Brazil for her work with indigenous farmers of the Amazon rainforest. How can we incorporate forest justice into our everyday lives?
We will look at contemporary examples and begin to see life through the lenses of the common good and the integrity of creation. Second of five talks on forests.
