John Patrick McKenzie's work flouts explanation, constructed entirely of his peculiar penmanship and often referencing pop culture, a floating, ambling structure of words snake their way across the page in a fashion that resembles notes of music.
'Most Tailless Animals Like Peter Pan', 'The Beatles Like Ice Shavers in the Phillippines' and 'Most Uncultured People Like Fried Eggs and Scrambled Eggs' are the kinds of truths that make the everyday seem unknowable.
John Patrick McKenzie is Culture Humbug Sexy is his second exhibition with the Brett McDowell Gallery.
