Dr Sam Heenan, Food Sciences, University of Otago will discuss the anatomy of the human olfactory system (sense of smell) and the way that experience, memory, and vision influence our identification of scents and familiar smells. Those attending are welcome to take part in an experiment involving particular scents - the outcomes will amaze you!
