World Wide Knit in Public Day

Pick up your pins, needles and hooks to join a craft-loving community, bringing some much needed cheer to the people of Christchurch this winter. World Wide Knit in Public Day is an annual event that takes place on the second Saturday of June. This year's event will take place at the Air Force Museum in Wigram.

Join fellow knitters in the Atrium (the first area that you enter in the museum), which is nice and light and airy. The idea is that this is very much a social event for knitters and crocheters to come along with their work in progress to “knit and natter”. Sharing recently completed projects and discover new ways to do things. The cafe are offering a special “knitters” deal of tea/coffee and a biscuit throughout the afternoon.

Family and friends are also welcome to come along and either join a friendly group of knitters or feel free to explore the museums galleries, take a behind-the-scenes tour or even grab a coffee and relax. A great day out for everyone.

Crafters all over the world will be hitting the streets to celebrate this great annual event which began in 2005 as a way for knitters to come together and enjoy each other's company, be inspired and share skills. All levels and abilities welcome. Relax and be inspired!
