The three finalists in the 2011 Michael Hill International Violin Competition each performs a concerto with the APO in the much-anticipated final of this prestigious contest. The 2011 winner will be announced at the conclusion of the concert.
The competition draws some of the most talented young violinists in the world and aims to promote young violinists who are launching their solo professional career. As well as a cash prize, the winner receives a 2012 New Zealand tour including a concert with the APO.
The international jury for 2011 includes Canadian violinist Lara St. John and UK violinist Tasmin Little who will both also feature as soloists with the APO while in New Zealand. 2003 MHIVC winner Natalia Lomeiko also features as a soloist with the APO in the 2011 season.
