New Zealanders will get a street-front view of snowsports action this winter with two massive big air events and a public snow expo. The Auckland Viaduct Big Air will be the biggest and most exciting event kicking winter off with an amazing spectacle.
A 17m high ramp made from 30 tons of scaffold and containers will hold 60 cubic metres of snow provided by Snow Planet to propel local and international athletes over a 50-foot gap jump. A portable ramp will be built for the FMX riders. Auckland’s Viaduct will be transformed into a ski, snowboard and FMX exhibition hosting various international and local athletes. The area of the square will hold a jump that is 17m high and has a footprint of 40mx15m with a jump gap of 50ft.
Over the same weekend is the Auckland Snow Show: 3 - 5 June (Fri/Sat/Sun)
After five years the Snow Show is returning to Auckland. Both local and international exhibitors will be showing the latest products available in winter action sports.
Holiday destinations, rental vehicles, clothing, skis, snowboards, sport and leisure equipment, package deals, local and international resorts, and retailers. This is not just a trade show but a consumer experience; everything is for sale with great deals offered. Come down and search out the latest skis, boards, clothing and accessories for the 2011 winter...
