The Central Otago Art Awards, which will celebrate outstanding artists and encourage artistic innovation, are an initiative of the Central Otago District Arts Trust (CODAT). With entry open to all New Zealand artists, CODAT aims to bring new and interesting art to Central Otago - art which will stimulate our audiences and celebrate our diverse community, while also helping to shape the art opportunities for present and future visual artists of this region.
The two top awards will be determined by eminent art adjudicators Elizabeth Caldwell and Jim Geddes. The prize winners will be announced at the VIP awards evening and exhibition opening on Thursday 8 September in the Russell Henderson Art Gallery, Alexandra. The opening will feature guest speakers, Central Otago wine and finger food, live music, poetry readings by renowned local poets and exciting giveaways.
Tickets to the VIP Art Awards evening are $30.00 single.
