Join Tania Kopytko and Sir Jon Trimmer as they discuss some of the developments in dance, and ponder why dance is so popular in New Zealand.
This event runs as part of the Dancing Delights exhibition at the Museum of Wellington City & Sea which includes 9 weeks of Saturday music and Sunday dance events. Based on Nesta Ngoi Carwell-Cooke, a talented early 20th century Wellington dancer and dance teacher, this exhibition celebrates Wellington’s dance scene from the First World War to the present and features Nesta's collection of photographs, scrapbooks and original costume designs. Juxtaposing these archive images are Karen Walker’s contemporary designs for the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s Stravinsky Selection – Satisfied with Great Success.
