Calling all flappers and gliders, roll up to learn two of Art Deco's finest foot-steppers - the (1920s) Charleston and the Collegiate Shag. You'll cover all the essential steps within 60 minutes, after which you'll be ready to impress the locals with your new-found footwork. Dress in your best rendition of 1920s and 1930s attire and be in to win prizes for the best dressed. Open to all ages.

This event runs as part of the Dancing Delights exhibition at the Museum of Wellington City & Sea which includes 9 weeks of Saturday music and Sunday dance events. Based on Nesta Ngoi Carwell-Cooke, a talented early 20th century Wellington dancer and dance teacher, this exhibition celebrates Wellington’s dance scene from the First World War to the present and features Nesta's collection of photographs, scrapbooks and original costume designs. Juxtaposing these archive images are Karen Walker’s contemporary designs for the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s Stravinsky Selection – Satisfied with Great Success.
