Carol Smith (Pihanga Art Co-operative) is an Auckland-based artist who is having her second exhibition titled “Elements” in July at the Pihanga Art Co-operative Gallery. Following on from her 2010 exhibition which focused on the Turangi and Central Plateau district she again explores the landscape of this area and the colours of nature through the four elements of fire, earth, air and water. She combines acrylic on canvas with small framed works using paper and pins, which explore the night sky and the mysteries of the universe.
