Large-scale colourful works by an artist who considers the Bay of Plenty's Matakana Island his turangawaewae (spiritual home) will be on show at Tauranga Art Gallery.

Kelcy Taratoa, who is of Ngai te Rangi and Ngati Raukawa descent, is excited to show some of his latest works to a new audience.

The new works, which represent a major shift in Taratoa's work, seek to explore our alternate realities - the physical tangible nature of life against a virtual interactive reality.
