Christine Hellyar will give an Art Byte talk. Christine Hellyar is one of New Zealand's most thought-provoking and innovative sculptors and exhibited at the fourth Biennale of Sydney as one of the first two woman ever selected to represent New Zealand at the Biennale of Sydeny. We are privileged to see Christine's sculpture at the Pat Hanley exhibition; a waterfall of calico and thought-provoking it was!
Christine will talk about the sculptures she has exhibited at the Rotorua Museum in the past, and the works they relate to. Besides Hodges' Waterfall, Omai's Handkerchiefs there will be a latex work called Dawn and Dusk and an installation called Covering the Earth, Decorating the Earth. She will also talk about how Rotorua's landscape influenced those older works with photos she has taken over many years.
Free with admission to the Museum.
Locals and under 5's free.
