Sean's artwork for this exhibition is a layered progression from painting through sculpture that ends in utilitarian items in order to highlight several different aspects of his creative process. Initially this was designed to create perspective in the furniture he makes as art first and "sitting things" second, but as the artworks have come to define themselves, as they are constructed, we are seeing not only the furniture as art, but parallel commentaries on creation, morality and definition of self through process as play... and play is one of the defining gestures!
