The Blackbird Ensemble : Strings with Bond St Bridge Band
Baby sister to the to 23 piece orchestra performances on Friday July 8th, and Sunday 10th, this is a reduced ensemble, featuring strings - and a setlist that centres around Philip Glass' 'Mishima' Quartet.
Also performing works by Arvo Pårt, Bjork, Nick Cave and more.
Blackbird Ensemble moves beyond traditional classical performance and transitions between rock, avantguarde pop, film soundtrack and classical works. Comprising of some of NZ’s finest young classical and jazz musicians, including Murray Hickman and Matthew Ledingham.
