Conductor Kenneth Young & soloist Jenny Banks.
The Nelson Symphony Orchestra welcomes back Jenny Banks to perform the famous Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35, one of the best known of all violin concertos and one of the most technically difficult works for violin.
Kenneth Young will also conduct the orchestra in Dvořák’s Symphony No 8, which draws its inspiration from the cheery Bohemian folk music the composer loved; and the suite of nine dances from Ring Round the Moon, written in 1957 by New Zealand composer David Farquhar.
