Donna Dean with Greg Turner and support from Chris Priestley + Martha Louise - alt country singer/songwriter.
Her creativity has been compared with that of Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan. She’s lived. She knows first hand about addiction, depression, divorce and rehab. This alt.country Auckland based singer songwriter has toured with hit songwriter Don Mclean and worked alongside Willie Nelson, toured Europe for over a decade, recorded five albums, won three Tui awards and if that's not enough to impress, she wrote the title track on 2010 Grammy nominated Bluegrass album ‘Destination Life’.
With her 5 piece band, as a trio, duo or standing alone on a stage, Donna Dean is seasoned at delivering a world-class performance.
She sings about the dark in the world with a lyrical message of hope. “A songwriter of great depth” Graham Reid
Fresh from the 2011 Tui Awards in Gore she's on the move with her double-award-winning album 'What Am I Gonna Do?'. Voted 2011 Best Country Album - RIANZ and 2011 Best Country Song –APRA.
