Max Oettli's '271 People (mostly alive)' is a selection of vintage photographs from between 1967 and 1975 recording Auckland as it was prior to the enormous expansive growth of the late seventies and the early eighties. Inspired by Henri Cartier Bresson's 'decisive moment' and his 'hidden eye', Oettli captured and documented a place, its time and its people in an intense yet compassionate manner.
