Walton's Belshazzar's Feast will be performed by Southern Sinfonia and the City of Dunedin Choir, with the New Zealand-born bass-baritone soloist Paul Whelan! After musical studies in Wellington, Paul won the 1993 Cardiff Singer of the World Competition, and since then regularly appears at the world's most prestigious opera houses, including the New York Metropolitian Opera and English National Opera.
Also in the programme are Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis, and Copland's Appalachian Spring. The July performance by conductor Dane Lam, Paul Whelan, the City of Dunedin Choir and the Southern Sinfonia is not to be missed!
