The Owl & the Pussycat and other Oddities. Works of Edward Lear, adapted by Steven Morrison. Brand new adaption of The Owl and The Pussycat for children of all ages!
Join Edward Lear in high feather, played by Mark Mitchinson, with director Elena Stejko explore themes of aging and the relationship with humanity and the infinity.
Explore the child within come along to this new all sing and dancing classic. Morrison’s new adaption of the classic Lear verse brings whimsy and fun back to these nonsense masterpieces. One gets a sense of a very wise old man negotiating his way into old age while trying to keep the inner child alive. Enjoy a show filled with colour, laughter and light as timeless verse comes to life in a collection of nonsense and fun for kids. Its all about the power of words and the significance of story.
The timeless rhymes of Edward Lear, the father of nonsense, created a strain of humour that flowered much later in the works of Monty Python, Spike Milligan & The Goons and today Tim Burton & Terry Gilliam.
Outbox is all about generating and sharing a love of story. Its the one thing that makes kids pick up a book and learn to read. Who knows what can happen? Kids grab a Grandpa! Bring along a Grandma! Come see the Owl and the Pussycat at the Vic this school holidays. Grandparents half price.
