Pilgrim Productions Inc. presents this musical in the heritage-listed Pitt St Methodist Church.
Like the Rugby World Cup, Joseph is about winners and losers! The Bible hero Joseph faces evil challengers on his way to becoming a great leader. But he sidesteps them all with courage and humour, whether it's bedroom farce or political football.
In 1968, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice realised the story could also be winner as a church-school concert, and then on the West-End and Broadway.
43 years on, Joesph is still a lovely vehicle for modern people to do their thing with the Bible story. It is written so it can be performed by children or adults.
Pilgrim's interpretation takes Joseph right back to its 1968 origin, in a church! Several of the cast said "wow" when they were shown the venue and one burst into sound so he could try the cool acoustics.
It'll inspire you and entertain you. So if you want to be a winner, make a date with Joseph. And invite your rugby team as well!
