New Zealand's leading contemporary outdoor sculpture exhibition, headland Sculpture On the Gulf is a biennial event, taking place in 2011 for the fifth occasion.
Located along a spectacular 2km coastal walkway on Auckland's Waiheke Island, headland makes a great reason to visit Waiheke, just 35 minutes cruise from Auckland's downtown on a Fullers fast ferry. The exhibition walkway starts at Matiatia, where the ferry arrives and regular buses will return you to the Waiheke Community Art Gallery or back to the ferry from the end of the walkway. A wonderful reason to visit Waiheke, this art exhibition guarantees to surprise and amaze.
headland is one of New Zealand's most popular art exhibitions, fully curated and exhibiting some of New Zealand's most respected artists. Over 25,000 people have attended the exhibition over its three week lifespan in previous years .
headland is a public event, coordinated by a non-profit charitable organisation. Entry to the exhibition is by a $2 donation. Please check the exhibition website for details, including transport, sales information, exact location and FAQs.
