The Auckland Aces travel to Christchurch for Sunday's game against the Wizards hoping that they can recreate the kind of form that saw them topple the Wellington Firebirds in the last round to get their one day campaign on the board.

The win came on the back of a brilliant hundred from skipper Gareth Hopkins in an excellent all-round batting effort, something that coach Paul Strang is confident that they can reproduce.

"I was very pleased with the way we put the innings together on Wednesday. We created partnerships and we had Hoppy batting right through - it's pretty much a blueprint for how to succeed at one day cricket so we obviously want to continue to do that."

On what was another excellent batting strip at Colin Maiden Park it was a brilliant piece of fielding from Lou Vincent that helped turn the tide as Wellington fought back, an element of the Aces game that they've been working hard on.

"Our fielding was outstanding in the HRV Cup and we want to maintain those standards in the one day comp. I think it really brings an extra element to our game."

The Aces face the Canterbury Wizards in the third round of the domestic one day competition at QEII Park from 11am on Sunday.

The twelve for Sunday's game is as follows:

Andre Adams (Overseas professional)
Michael Bates (Suburbs New Lynn)
Colin de Grandhomme (Howick Pakuranga)
Roneel Hira (North Shore)
Gareth Hopkins (capt) (wk) (Parnell)
Anaru Kitchen (Waitakere City)
Kyle Mills (Howick Pakuranga)
Colin Munro (Howick Pakuranga)
Jeet Raval (Suburbs New Lynn)
Bhupinder Singh (Papatoetoe)
Daryl Tuffey (Suburbs New Lynn)
Lou Vincent (Takapuna)
