After the success of 2008, 2009, and 2010, the 2011 Akaroa Summer Festival is designed to stimulate, educate and enthuse advanced young musicians from all over New Zealand and abroad. An array of distinguished international musicians and tutors will provide inspiring daily lessons, masterclasses and concerts.
Concert 13
Elizabethan Evening
Spend a summer’s evening revisiting the Golden Age of Elizabeth I, with the words of William Shakespeare read by Elric Hooper, and the music of John Dowland performed by Jonathan Le Cocq (lute) and Lois Johnston (soprano). During the interval there will be a tankard of English ale and roast sucking pig available.
