On this night The Pirate City Rollers will host their second international bout. The bout sees Auckland’s PCR team – the Canon Brawlers - go head to head with Australian Newcastle team – the Dockyard Dames - for the first time ever in New Zealand.
The Dockyard Dames are fresh from defeat against Australia’s third ranking team, the Adelaide‘s Adeladies – who the PCRs will be bouting with this month.
Both bouts are a great coup for the growing PCR roller derby league. The ability to host two international bouts on home soil shows the growing popularity of the sport and showcases the quality of New Zealand roller derby to the international roller derby community. Many PCR players see the international bouts as an opportunity to gain valuable track time in the lead up to the Roller Derby World Cup in Toronto this December.
Support the Canon Brawlers as they will be fighting hard to outwit the Australians with strategy and a bag full of derby tricks and athleticism.
