Living comfortably and independently at home in our senior years is practically everyone’s ideal.

The ‘How to Stay Better at Home’ Expo is a half-day fact-finding event on November 23rd, directed at helping people on the North Shore learn about the many ways to continue living independently at home.

The Expo has been organised by Panacea Healthcare who saw a real need to provide the North Shore community with an easy way to learn more about what is available to them locally.

“There are many wonderful support services to help people continue living at home,” says Bridget Gordon, Regional Manager Panacea Healthcare. “The Expo is about bringing these services together under one roof and creating a place where people can come to learn more, talk to experts and not feel like there is a commercial obligation.”

The Expo is supported by a variety of organisations that will have stalls for people to visit and talk to experts, including Age Concern, Mobile Optometrist, Life Pharmacy, Relionus Mobility, Tai Chi, Mobility Scooters, Community Law, Civil Defence, NZ Fire Service, Grey Power, Milford Care and Craft, Bay Audiology, Mobile Beauty Therapy, Sole to Soul Feet, Work & Income NZ, EAT – prepared meals, Age Plus Services, Guardian Trust, St Johns.

“People will be able to learn about a wide range of services like ways to keep safe at home, what products are available for daily living, how to arrange affordable home support, how to get free delivery of your medication, your legal rights, and how to access funding options available,” says Bridget Gordon.

Entry to the Expo is free and every person will get the opportunity for a free blood pressure check.
