Storehouse have been busy making brain surgeons do the limbo. The housewrecking Auckland collective now bring their raw blues / smutty spirituals calypso / slave spirituals rent party to a town near you. With over 700 shows internationally since 2003, the cult group assembled around UK singer/guitarist Tom Rodwell ("Sheffield's answer to Lightnin' Hopkins" - NME) has recently supported Trinity Roots at the Auckland Town Hall, and is known for their marathon dancefloor sessions at the Wine Cellar, Auckland's bohemian HQ.
Earning critical respect (Radio NZ, Metro) for a musical form too often presented with little imagination, Storehouse make blues-based music relevant, unconventional and fiercely entertaining. No need for hot foot powder - Storehouse will make you dance 'till your shoes fall off.

"Tom Rodwell is Sheffield's answer to Lightnin' Hopkins,” - NME.
"Psychotic gospel music," - Blues in Britain.
"Been a while since anyone's heard a song quite like that," - BBC World Service, The Beat.
"Serving up eclectic, foot-stompin' alt.blues and visceral neo-spirituals" - Time Out May 2009
"Soul-probing... Raw, avant-garde improvisations," - Metro, NZ.
"Thanks for making my job a lot harder, man. I was gonna go out there and play a bunch of bullshit, now I actually gotta do something." - Otis Taylor.
"I just wanna shake your hand," - Dave Dobbyn.
