When it comes to working with paper the possibilities are endless from the simple bookmark to a wearable garment – paper can do it all! This workshop is all about exploration and examining the tactile qualities of this endearing, often underestimated medium.
On the Saturday Ruth will guide students through 5 techniques covering various elements of each technique in detail. There will be demonstrations and hands on practice, as well as ample opportunity to ask questions and tailor the knowledge you gain to your own practice and interest. Both the construction and image transfer will be very guided by the group. The Sunday will offer the opportunity for students to shape all of the techniques learned on Saturday into a personalised project, Ruth will offer guidance to each student and advice for utilising and advancing the techniques in a hands on project.
