Sherpa - Pretty Cool Optical Tour 2011

It's been a while, has it not?

But finally, MUZAI Records and Sherpa have pulled their act together, sat down over a game of Yahtzee and discussed a full scale sonic attack on Australasia. Then we realised we're not another rock band and don't ever talk that way, so instead decided to tour the band's sophomore release, "Pretty Cool Optical Illusions" in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch... for now.

Having recorded last year with the team at ThinkT Studios in Auckland and carefully picking their spots when to release, "Pretty Cool Optical Illusions" has grown away from the high-school pop the band charted with "I'm Sparklers" into a more maturer release - probably a given since they're all older now also.

What wasn't a given was just how much of a growth the band undertook with the addition of Ben Tindall as a second guitarist - now with the metronome like rhythm section of Vince McMillan (drums) and Sam Cussen (bass) ever tighter than before and Tindall's steady guitar work mapping everything out, it gives Earl Ho (vocalist, guitarist) "carte blanche" to wonder with his guitar into that world of his own he's only hinted at previously.

EP released from February 28th; but advance copies will be for sale at the shows.
