Although Flute Choirs are a relatively new phenomenon in New Zealand, they have been around for many years in other parts of the world. Now Wellingtonians will be able to experience the trend and hear a group of six flute players perform a wide variety of repertoire in a lunch time concert held as part of the Wellington Fringe Festival.
For many years, Wellington composer and flute player, Michelle Scullion, has been composing music especially for flute and has finally decided to get together with some of Wellington's best players to perform the repertoire.
The programme promises an eclectic selection of styles, played by a highly accomplished ensemble on a fascinating array of instruments from the flute family, and is sure to win the support and enjoyment of audiences around the region.
