The poetic and illustrative magic of Margaret Mahy and David Elliot. Edited by Tessa Duder. Curated by Kathryn Mitchell - Ashburton Art Gallery.

It is based on a book called the 'Word Witch’ that is a compilation of 66 Margaret Mahy poems sourced from almost 50 years of writing. The exhibition consists of approximately 100 framed works on paper: dozens of working and finished drawings by David Elliot who has brought Mahy's poems to life. A collection of Margaret Mahy ephemera including her first story written at the age of seven is also on display!
