Geoffrey Manahi is a passionate kaitiaki (guardian) of the memory of his late father, Lance Sergeant Haane Manahi. In this lecture he shares stories of the men who made up B Company 28 Māori Battalion, outlining some of their key exploits. He also traces the Manahi story post-World War II including the quest for redress on the decision that saw his father’s Victoria Cross downgraded to a Distinguished Conduct Medal.
Admission to this event is included with entry to the museum.
