Most writers want feedback on their work and an effective writing group can be a perfect and enjoyable way to get it.
This workshop lays out the practical nuts and bolts of setting up and running an effective writing group. It discusses the benefits of belonging to a group, how to find a group that best serves your goals, how a group can keep you on task and how to avoid the pitfalls. It also advises participants how to give and receive constructive criticism.
NB: This workshop concludes with a “speed dating” opportunity to meet potential group members.
Tutor Kathryn Burnett is a screenwriter, tutor, script consultant and playwright who has assisted numerous writers - both students and professionals. She belonged to the same writers’ group for over five years and knows first hand what an asset an effective group can be to any writer.
Morning tea included
