Thundercat Racing - 2010/11 National: Surf Cross

This summer the adrenaline thrill seekers are back on the water competing in the Thundercat Racing 2011 National Series. Reaching speeds of up to 80km/h on the water & clearing heights above the waves of 4m, this year's race season is set to thrill spectators at beaches across the country.

Many of the New Zealand Thundercat Racing teams compete in the world championships and this year's national competition promises to be fiercer than ever competing for the New Zealand title.

The winners from last season, Smuggler Marine, who have had good form in the warm up meets this season has seen driver Logan Pringle team up with a new co-pilot. Hot favourites are Henderson Demolition who would love to take the title win this season.

With title bragging rights and pride on the line, beach-goers are sure to have a thrilling time watching the racing at New Zealand’s hot spots including Whangamata, Mount Maunganui, Waihi Beach, and Piha as well as a race around the Cape (starting at Aripaha).

19 Feb 2011: National Surf Cross: Piha beach
26 Feb 2011: National Surf Cross: Hawkes Bay
27 Feb 2011: National Endurance: Hawkes Bay
