Visit the Creative Quarter as Parnell galleries open to late serving up a tempting smorgasbord of fine art - the perfect entrée to a memorable evening at one of Parnell’s great restaurants.

This sociable event centres on the cluster of galleries located in the middle of Parnell Road: ARTIS Gallery, Jonathan Grant Galleries, Pankhurst Studio Gallery, Parnell Gallery, Pierre Peeters Gallery and Sanderson Contemporary Art.

New on the menu this month …

ARTIS Gallery, 280 Parnell Road
Bridget Bidwill’s New Paintings exhibition. Sophistication and finesse is evident in these new works, which continue to experiment with surface treatments and placement of a variety of organic forms which have become associated with the artist's name.

Jonathan Grant Galleries, 280 Parnell Road
Adolfo Belimbau was a well-known painter of landscapes and genre subjects. Born in Cairo, but living most of his life in Italy, Belimbau became the leader of a very successful group of local Florentine artists who exhibited regularly in the area.

French artist, Philippe Jacques Linder, born in 1835 at Sarrelouis, first exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1857 and over the next 30 years continued to exhibit many watercolours of the French style “a la mode” - the portraiture of fashionable Parisian society ladies of the turn of the century.

Sanderson Contemporary Art, 251 Parnell Road
John Oxborough's new work centres around the notion of childhood and the nature of memory. Although drawn from the artist's present and day-to-day life, his figurative paintings appears as fragmented recollections from a half-forgotten past. His style draws heavily on the ideas of European Modernists, whose break from rigid naturalism allowed artists and viewers to explore representation and perception from entirely new directions.
