The ceramic mugs, bowls and teapots which we take for granted as ordinary have a long, intertwined history with the human race. For over 10,000 years we have been making ceramics as functional objects, as an art form and a commercial venture. This exhibition explores these contrasts and the development of ceramic production through a focus on domestic ceramics.

Keep a watch out for the live wheel demonstration by the Manawatū Pottery Society in the purpose built potter’s studio on February 27.
