'Bead Archaeology' is a glass bead exhibition curated by Greg Smith and Isla Osborne. The exhibition will feature a cross section of bead-making practices from ancient techniques to contemporary studio glass beading in New Zealand.

Contemporary glass beads are shown alongside influential ancient bead-making techniques. The exhibition focuses on the replication of ancient bead-making techniques. Central to the exhibition is a large-scale world map, with examples of beads displaying the varied history of glass bead making.

Learn how to make specific beads that feature in the exhibition in a series of glass bead-making workshops. To book please contact Artstation Tel: 09 3763221 or email: artstation@aucklandcity.govt.nz.
