Mesmerising its audience of prisoners and guards at its 1941 premiere in a German internment camp, the Messiaen Quartet has risen to iconic status with its spiritual and ecstatic power. The programme is completed with the autumnal Brahms Trio No. 1 in B Major Op 8 and a special selection of New Zealand piano pieces.
