Auckland based artist Rachel Foster has a huge love of the '40s & '50s Americana. This influences both her artwork and life and is strongly evident in her new exhibition 'Pin-ups and Paua'. The exhibition features a body of grand scaled acrylic works on canvas mixing ‘consumables’ together. This makes her pin-ups into something much more enduring, with a pop-art, Kiwi twist, drizzled with simple yet seductive titles which mean something a little different to what’s written on the packet.
